Feel the Heat at the Frankenmuth Fire Arts Festival

Things are heating up in Frankenmuth! The Frankenmuth Fire Arts Festival returns September 25–26, 2026, bringing two days of art, fire, live entertainment, and hands-on creativity to Heritage Park.

Hosted by the Frankenmuth Arts Council, this one-of-a-kind festival gives visitors the chance to do more than simply admire finished artwork. You can actually watch artists work with fire, explore different art forms, and even create something of your own.

The Iron Pour Experience

One of the biggest highlights of Fire Arts Festival happens after the sun goes down.

At 7 p.m. both evenings, molten iron is poured into molds created by festival workshop participants. Visitors can watch the entire process as glowing metal is transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

The iron pour is actually where the story of Fire Arts Festival began. The Frankenmuth Arts Council hosted its first iron pour in 2018, and interest in fire-based art continued to grow. By 2021, the event had officially become the Frankenmuth Fire Arts Festival, eventually moving to Heritage Park as more workshops, demonstrations, artists, and entertainment were added.

Feeling creative? Fire Arts Festival offers workshops that let visitors experience art forms they may not get to try every day.

The 2026 lineup includes opportunities such as:

• Iron casting

• Blacksmithing

• Aluminum casting

• Raku

• Glassworking and glassblowing

• Candle making

• Scratch-tile molds

• Pottery

Some workshops require advance registration, so anyone hoping to make their own piece should check availability before festival weekend.

Watch the Artists at Work

You don't have to sign up for a workshop to see some impressive craftsmanship.

Throughout the festival, visitors can catch demonstrations featuring blacksmithing, flameworking, chainsaw carving, and foundry work. Artisan vendors will also be on hand displaying and selling their creations, making it a great opportunity to discover something unique while supporting artists and makers.

Art, Fire, Food & Live Entertainment

Fire Arts Festival isn't only about what's being created in the workshops. Live music and entertainment continue into the evening, including fire dancers, while food and drinks give visitors plenty of reasons to stick around and enjoy the atmosphere.

It's a festival that looks especially impressive once evening arrives and the furnaces, flames, and glowing metal begin to light up Heritage Park.
